Thus is can treat a wide range of bacterial infections including infections of the respiratory tract (sinuses, bronchitis or pneumonia), skin infections, kidney infections, infections of the genitourinary tract (urinary tract, bladder, and prostate infections), joint and bone infections, and other infections. It is effective in esoteric cases such as anthrax, plague, and even Multidrug-resistant (MDR) tuberculosis. For all these reasons, Levofloxacin is on the World Health Organization’s Model Lists of Essential Medicines.

Avicare® (levofloxacin) is generally taken either once or twice daily every 12 hours; however, consult your doctor for your specific case. It is generally advised to take Avicare® (levofloxacin) on an empty stomach, 2 hours before or after eating, as it is affected by the presence of vitamins/minerals (including iron, zinc, magnesium, aluminum, and calcium), NSAIDs, and many GI tract medications. A course usually lasts for 7-14 days; take the entire prescribed regimen whether or not symptoms start to subside.
