Gastrifam® (famotidine)

Gastrifam^® (famotidine) is an H2 blocker which decreases acid production in the stomach. It is used to treat or prevent ulcers and other disorders caused by too much stomach acid production, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It is also indicated for  gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and heartburn.

Dosage and length of treatment depends on the medical condition, so ask your doctor or pharmacist. Typically, Gastrifam^® (famotidine) is taken once daily, and its effects can be seen within an hour and last up to 12 hours.
